Hen takes the top spot at FNCS with Flikk & Anas coming second
Guild Esports took home its first major esports trophy at the Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) European Grand Finals last night, with its athlete Hen part of the trio that secured the #1 spot, and $300,000 in winnings.
Flikk & Anas also formed part of the trio that took second place, securing $210,000, while TaySon’s trio secured eighth place and $60,000 in winnings. The final standings meant all four members of Guild’s Fornite Roster secured a top 10 finish.
The top 3 teams also secured autoqualification for next season’s Grand Finals – meaning, should they remain with their trios, Hen, Flikk & Anas have already booked their spots.
In an exciting climax to Fornite Chapter 2 Season 5, Hen’s trio fought off competition from some of the best Fornite players in Europe to secure Guild its first major esports trophy, with 311 points achieved over the course of 12 games, which included three outright victories.
It marks a momentous occasion for Guild Esports, who since launching in June 2020, have signed and developed some of the most exciting talent in esports over the past year, culminating in its first major win.
Grant Rousseau, Guild’s Director of Esports commented, “We are just so proud of all the players for this win – but also the coaches and staff behind the scenes who help to make the magic happen. We set ourselves a goal at Guild to achieve our first major trophy this year, so to make that goal a reality is a really important milestone in our history.
Exciting nights like these are why all of us are involved in esports. We are still young as an organisation, but we have big ambitions to be the best esports team in the scene. This FNCS major is the first step, and now we have our sights firmly set on achieving more major success in both Fortnite, and our other competitive titles Valorant, FIFA & Rocket League.”
Carleton Curtis, Executive Chairman at Guild added, “Our mission is to build a culture of excellence in everything we do, and it’s been really exciting to see our players take on that mindset from training, into the Fornite field with this major win. At Guild, we have a big focus on nurturing the best talent in esports, and we’re looking forward to continuing to develop our athletes and achieve more success in the near future”.
