Hawks Talon Sits at 3-3 As Team Prepares for THE TIPOFF Powered by AT&T
In front of an international viewing audience, Hawks Talon Gaming Club, the official NBA 2K League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, lost to Nets Gaming Crew (NetsGC), the official affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, in the first two games as part of a best-of-three series. The results of each game were 66-70 and 49-73.
“We had some challenges during tonight’s matchup, but we competed through them,” Hawks Talon GC’s Team Manager and Head Coach Wesley Acuff said. “We’ll take what we learned tonight, go back to the lab and prepare for THE TIPOFF.”
In the first game, Atlanta’s own KEL (Mykel Wilson) led the team with 26 points. Hawks Talon’s BP (Michael Diaz-Cruz) finished with 24 points, seven assists and three steals. LEE (Lee Lamb) contributed with his fifth double-double performance of the season after totaling 10 points and 12 rebounds. Rounding out the group was MRSTYLEZ (Andrew Valle) who finished with three points, three rebounds and three steals, and FOLLOWTHEGOD (Kwan Larry Niblack Jr.) who contributed with three points.
In the second game, Hawks Talon’s BP scored a team-high 23 points and three assists. LEE recorded another double-double after tallying 12 points and 11 rebounds. This performance extends his streak to 13 games with at least 10 rebounds. KEL recorded eight points and five assists, FOLLOWTHEGOD added six points, and MRSTLYEZ added four rebounds and two steals.
Hawks Talon (3-3) will continue its remote gameplay for at least five more weeks. The club’s next match will occur as part of THE TIPOFF powered by AT&T. These games will air live on ESPN2, ESPN’s digital platforms and the NBA 2K League’s Twitch and YouTube channels.
