Michael Diaz-Cruz, Kwan Niblack Jr. and Levi Lamb To Make Unofficial Debut for Club During NBA 2K League ‘Three For All Showdown’

Announced in a live stream hosted by the NBA 2K League, Hawks Talon Gaming Club, the official NBA 2K League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, will compete in the first round of the NBA 2K League ‘Three For All Showdown’ against Team Savage, featuring Washington Redskins running back Derrius Guice, at 10 p.m. tonight. The tournament features WNBA and G League ballers, special guests, pro athletes from other sports leagues, the top fan teams from last week’s bracket and some of the top 2K League players.

“We’re excited for our players to compete in this showdown,” said Hawks Talon GC Head Coach Wesley Acuff. “While we stay at home and practice social distancing, it’s important that we stay connected, and we are thrilled to have an opportunity to share this virtual stage.”

Hawks Talon GC’s starting three features players making their unofficial debut with the club. Acquired in a trade this past offseason, Michael Diaz-Cruz, known as Bp, will play as xXBptzFinestXx. He was a finalist for the 2019 Intel Performance NBA 2K League Most Valuable Player Award after being drafted third overall in the 2019 NBA 2K League Draft. Joining him are two of the Hawks Talon’s selections from the most recent NBA 2K League Draft on February 22, Levi Lamb, known as Lee, will play as Lee2k__, was the team’s first-round pick and Kwan Niblack, Jr., known as followTHEGOD, will play as IKerryL, was the team’s third-round selection.

“My teammates and I are excited to have an opportunity to compete together,” said Diaz-Cruz. “We want to give the city of Atlanta and our fans a team that they can support during this time.”

Hawks Talon GC will face off against Team Savage, which features Washington Redskins and former LSU All-American running back Derrius Guice, who will play as a savagekid225. Guice, a second-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, made his debut for the Redskins during the 2019 season.

All series aside from the final rounds of each bracket will be played in best-of-three format with the final round matchups being best-of-five. The NBA 2K League’s first-ever ‘Three for All Showdown’ includes a $25,000 prize pool; $15,000 is available to the non-NBA 2K League teams in the second stage, $9,000 is available to the NBA 2K League teams and $1,000 available to the winners of the fan only brackets in the first stage.

Fans can watch the streams on Twitch and YouTube starting at 8 p.m. Hawks Talon GC’s games will be streamed live on the club’s official Twitch channel starting at 10 p.m.
