Ohio State University is going to offer a first of its kind academic programme on eSports. Deborah M. Grzybowski, co-director of the game studies and esports curriculum development, told the media:
“With Ohio State being a leader in engineering, academics, research and medicine, it seems a natural fit to pull all of these together to support the esports programme.”
Students can join both undergraduate and graduate programmes in Esports, which will be available in five colleges. The course content could include esports management, game art and production, game design, and programming. The university will also launch a collegiate league for esports teams a kind of the NCAA of college esports. The university will construct a gaming arena for this purpose as well. All the students will be able to access the arena.
