“I’m extremely excited for the upcoming Global Esports Games in Istanbul later this year. We have a great amount of talent in our selection with a good amount of players coming off of a very successful Commonwealth Esports Championships, and I’m hopeful that we can improve on last year’s result,” Mark Weller, Team Manager of Great Britain, said.
“We’re pleased to see a pathway being created for esports talent in the United Kingdom with a growing number of players in multiple games. The excitement surrounding the Commonwealth Esports Championships is still prevalent and ongoing discussions surrounding Commonwealth & Olympic involvement continue to show a real desire to bring esports into the mainstream,” Chester King, CEO of British Esports, said.
