Riot Games has announced a multi-year partnership with telecommunications company Verizon. As part of the deal, the company will become the official founding partner of the League of Legends: Wild Rift esports ecosystem in North America.

Verizon becomes the exclusive provider of 5G networks and wireless services for the North American Wild Rift series. In addition, the company will partner with Riot Games to create an “immersive fan experience” along with the brand’s integration into Wild Rift tournaments throughout 2022.

Matt Archambo, Head of Esports Partnerships and Business Development for Riot Games North America and Oceania, said: “With such a passionate response to Wild Rift, launching the first esports season was a natural next step for the discipline. When evaluating elite launch partners, it was clear that category recognition Verizon’s speed, scale, reliability and technological sophistication on mobile is exactly what the Wild Rift community has come to expect.”

This is not the first time Verizon has teamed up with Riot Games. The company is already partnering with the publisher on VALORANT and League of Legends disciplines, including the Mid-Season Invitational and First Strike.

Along with the aforementioned collaborations, Verizon has obtained the rights to use IP Wild Rift in its marketing and social media activities in addition to any original content. In addition, the company will use a “Founding Partner Logo” that will be displayed on both platforms.
