Hawks Talon GC, the official NBA 2K League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, hosted Raptors Uprising GC for the final group play game of the SLAM OPEN, falling 1-3.
It marked the fourth live game ever hosted at ‘The Lab presented by Diggi Games by Georgia Lottery’, and the first of two live games Hawks Talon will host this season.
“It was super fun to see the support we got tonight,” said Hawks Talon rookie Tyler ‘Baitpickk’ Montague. “Having fans cheer for us, cheerleaders, the DJ, it was a really cool first live game experience as a rookie.”
Talon finished the group play portion of the SLAM with a 1-3 record and 10 group play points. They will now advance to the bracket play portion of the SLAM OPEN, where all 25 NBA 2K League teams and seven community teams will advance to a 32-team double elimination bracket, which will take place over two weeks.
“The games that matter start now,” said Hawks Talon head coach Ismael ‘MAELO’ Diaz Tolentino. “We have to regroup, log back in, and make sure we’re ready to play our best brand of ball heading into bracket play.”
The bracket for the SLAM OPEN will be released at a later date.
