In conjunction with the highly anticipated inaugural Pan American Esports Championships (November 2-4, 2023), staged with the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile, the Global Esports Federation announced “Fit for Life Day” initiative. GEF’s tangible support for UNESCO’s “Fit for Life” campaign is designed to address modern challenges, including physical inactivity, mental health, and societal inequality, while simultaneously fostering peace, inclusivity, and resilience within global communities.

The Fit for Life Day, supported by UNESCO, is structured around five key objectives, with a primary focus on enhancing grassroots participation in esports and the promotion of quality physical education. By doing so, GEF aims to confront the rising rates of inactivity and chronic diseases, highlighting the potential of esports and physical well-being to drive positive change.

“We invite individuals to create and share their own video clips, with a maximum duration of one (1) minute, employing the hashtag #FitforLifeDay. These videos will serve as a powerful testament to the transformative influence of esports and physical activity in fostering equality, empowerment, and inclusion,” GEF said.

Participation is open to individuals aged 18 years and above, with a shared passion for esports and a deep appreciation for its positive impact on their lives or those within their communities. The deadline for video submissions is October 31, 2023.

“We are thrilled to announce that your creative content will take center stage during the ‘Fit for Life Day’ as part of the #PEC23 on November 2-4. Furthermore, they will be prominently featured across the GEF’s social media platforms and communication channels,” GEF said.
