British Esports, the national body established to support grassroots esports throughout the UK, has announced a new online event dedicated to equity, diversity and inclusivity throughout industry.
The Be The Change Summit, delivered as an online webinar and powered by the award-winning Women in Esports, is set to bring together key stakeholders from esports, education, technology, sports and video games, as well as educators, influencers and wider stakeholders committed to fostering a more diverse and inclusive community.
While esports plays a significant role in the summit, its scope extends far beyond competitive gaming. The event will feature speakers from diverse industries, aiming to create a broader impact that reaches beyond the boundaries of esports.
With an inaugural theme of Empowering, the Be The Change Summit aims to raise awareness about the significance of equity, diversity and inclusivity, underscoring its impact on individuals. It will also focus on promoting education by facilitating discussions on various EDI topics and shared personal experiences. The event encourages an open dialogue, creating a safe space for participants to express their own perspectives.
Moreover, the summit is designed to help attendees develop essential skills and tools for enhancing their own EDI practices and inspiring others to take meaningful action through showcasing best practices and highlighting success stories.
Scheduled to take place on November 14, the summit aims to address and highlight the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion throughout a range of industries and society as a whole. Women in Esports recognises the need to create a more diverse and equitable space for everyone, regardless of their industry, background or identity.
The Be The Change Summit will feature:
- Engaging Panels: Thought-provoking discussions led by industry experts, exploring the challenges and opportunities in promoting diversity and inclusion throughout industry.
- Insightful Keynotes: Inspirational keynotes from influential figures who have made significant contributions to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion in their respective fields.
