The NBA 2K League announced Thursday Raptors Uprising GC point guard Kenneth “Kenny Got Work” Hailey has been named the NBA 2K League’s Player of the Month for July. Kenny earns the honour for the second time this season after also winning the award for May.

The NBA 2K League leading scorer averaged 38.7 points, 9.1 assists and 3.9 steals across nine series games in July. He shot 76.1 per cent (143-for-188) from the field and 78.0 per cent (46-for-59) from three-point range as Raptors Uprising went undefeated for the third consecutive month, finishing July with a 4-0 record.

Kenny began July by helping Raptors Uprising become the earliest team to ever clinch a playoff spot in a win over Gen.G Tigers of Shanghai, scoring 50 points in a decisive Game 3 to secure the victory. He followed it up by helping Raptors Uprising beat Pacers Gaming in Week 10, highlighted by a 44-point, 10-assist double-double in Game 1 as Toronto set the NBA 2K League record for most points scored in a game (112). To conclude the month, Kenny led Raptors Uprising to a pair of West coast sweeps over Kings Guard Gaming and Lakers Gaming in Week 11, averaging 40.3 points, 9.3 assists and 4.3 steals across four series games as Toronto established a new NBA 2K League record for most wins in a regular season (15).

Kenny also played a crucial role in the team’s second tournament title of the season. In nine games at THE TURN Tournament powered by AT&T, the point guard navigated through the added “archetype ban” concept to average 28.8 points, 8.6 assists and 2.2 steals, highlighted by a 51-point performance in the Round of 16 against Gen.G Tigers. Kenny was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player, becoming the only player in league history to be named MVP of the first two tournaments of the season.

Originally taken 11th overall in the inaugural NBA 2K League Draft, the Memphis native is the longest-serving Raptors Uprising player and is the only player to represent Toronto in all three NBA 2K League seasons. In 15 regular season matches this season, the 30-year-old is averaging career-bests in points (34.7), assists (8.3), steals (3.6) and field-goal percentage (64.3).

The award is Kenny’s eighth individual accolade this season after earning four Player of the Week awards, the league’s Player of the Month award in May alongside Most Valuable Player awards at THE TIPOFF and THE TURN tournaments.
