Hawks Talon’s BP (Michael Diaz-Cruz) Recorded Two Double-Double Performances in Loss

 On Tuesday night, in front of an international viewing audience, Hawks Talon Gaming Club, the official NBA 2K League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, lost to Jazz Gaming, the official affiliate of the Utah Jazz, twice in a best-of-three series. The results of each game were 70-61, 58-78 and 53-75.

“Going into this game, we knew Jazz Gaming was a very talented team, and we are disappointed that we could not find a way to come away with the victory after winning the first game of the series,” Hawks Talon GC’s Team Manager and Head Coach Wesley Acuff said. “Next week, we have two big games against Magic Gaming and Kings Guard Gaming.” 

In the first game, Hawks Talon’s LEE (Lee Lamb) led the team with a career-high 26 points. In this game, he also contributed with a team-high nine rebounds and a game-high four blocks. Atlanta’s own KEL (Mykel Wilson) finished with 21 points. BP (Michael Diaz-Cruz) and FOLLOWTHEGOD (Kwan Niblack Jr.) contributed with 10 points. BP added a season-high 13 assists. Rounding out the group was MRSTYLEZ (Andrew Valle), who finished with seven rebounds.

In the second game, KEL scored a team-high 22 points and added four steals. BP added 18 points and 11 assists to mark his second consecutive double-double performance and his fourth double-double performance of the season. Hawks Talon’s LEE tallied 10 points, eight rebounds and a game-high three blocks. MRSTYLEZ added six points and six assists, while FOLLOWTHEGOD tallied two points.

In the third game, Hawks Talon’s BP and KEL each led the team by scoring a total of 21 points. BP added two assists, while KEL tallied four assists and four steals. LEE recorded six points and seven rebounds. Also contributing were FOLLOWTHEGOD, who tallied five points, and MRSTYLEZ, who recorded five rebounds.

Hawks Talon (3-5) will continue its remote gameplay for at least three more weeks. Next week, the club has two matches, which have cash prize implications. The first will occur at 9 p.m. ET on Tuesday, July 7 against Magic Gaming, the official affiliate of the Orlando Magic. The second takes place at 9 p.m. ET on Friday, July 10 against Kings Guard Gaming, the official affiliate of the Sacramento Kings. These games will air live on ESPN’s digital platforms and the NBA 2K League’s Twitch and YouTube channels.
